post-impocalypse: a field trip
Vengeance is a Hell that cannot forget the past. Places of violence sometimes waver and reveal their old scars, bullet holes reappearing in fixed tables. It hasn't even forgotten the fall-- white chalk outlines in some of the alleys show bodies bent and crumpled at fatal angles, bodies that if stared at long enough show the pale shadow of wings at their backs. Some of the damned have claimed these angel bodies, hoping for a patron in hell or a weapon against it should they ever stir-- or a favor from Asmodeus, if they bring a waking one to him.Space suddenly shifts, in a jarring, nauseating way, and you're falling into a landscape that's definitely a city, but not your Tokyo-F.
Beyond that, the cramped jumble of a city has the look of a place that belongs in a film noir, the light that's cast from the sky here washes out colors, and at night the fog comes in across the dark water and envelopes the city. So, in opposition to that, the occupied buildings are garish and loud on the inside and with their neon advertisements on the outside, demanding attention and refusing to bow to an environment that seems to want them silenced.
And land, unceremoniously, in an alley, the portal closing behind you. Nothing special about it, covered in peeling advertisements, full of shadows, littered with broken bottles and crushed cans and other kinds of garbage.
No one seems to have noticed you yet...

he'll look around for materials to futz around with, at the very least, enough to make his usual metal staff, as a start]

Goodness. So you can even make objects that look totally different from the end product, huh? That's a very handy ability...

[he holds up the staff, and one end shifts to a rudimentary spearhead]
I could make it look better if read up on them more. Or if I design it myself and practice.

But for now, I'm just glad to see that you won't be defenseless, here.

But it has to be all metal. So it depends on the quality of it, and it might be too heavy to lift if it's too dense.

Say--a spear is like a much larger arrow... You wouldn't happen to be able to make a bow and arrows out of that sort of material, could you?

Maybe another time then. I imagine making a bow and arrows out of metal are possible, but... I'm not familiar enough with modern technology to know how that would work.

[ She was a little selfish there. Sorry Duality!! ]
Do you think one spear is enough; do you need more metal?
no subject
[no he's curious now because he loves this unit ability so much]
I can make another one if we collect more of these cans. Or if there's a metal bar or something around here.

[ they could have a GROUP PROJECT TOGETHER figuring out how to do it. cute cr times ]
As for another spear ... What if you use the dumpsters?
[ points to them
that's gotta be SO many spears. but. stinky spears. I'm sorry to this whole group that the dumpsters keep coming up,,, ]
no subject
...ah... I could probably do that. I didn't even consider them.
no subject
I bet even just the lid would be enough for a spear. Shall we go see?
no subject
[gonna head over and place his hand on it. at least he can detach it from the bin itself and try to mold it down to a manageable shape]
no subject
Do you mind if I watch you work? I've only ever seen Intensity do this once before...
no subject
I don't mind. I'm still learning how to use it, so changing a larger piece like this is different.
no subject
Fascinating. It's like you're making pottery without a wheel or clay....
[ and a bunch of metal... ]
Does it feel like anything when you're working with it?
no subject
And hm. I think it's similar to how my ice powers work from back home. Though I can create ice from thin air. With this, I actually need metal already in existence.
