[ It's another day in Tokyo-D, and the relentless cycle of content generation for the masses goes on; how long have you been filming this drama, exactly? And it's not that it's a bad show, per se, but the fact that it's really dedicated to showing the gritty realities of combat and using practical effects for it is... kind of a lot.

Also it can't decide if it wants to be a show about frenemies or about enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies. Cowards.

And besides, it's not home, is it?

It occurs to you on break at the really honestly lackluster buffet table set up for the actors and any surviving extras that... there's really not that much security on this show, all things considered, unless there's something you're not seeing... ]

warpstrikes between Kohime's swords until she's closer to Amaranth, and steadies herself on the flower-filled breeze. ]

—well. Shrike has a mom in her arms now. She doesn't weigh that much but also she still has a lot of inertia going.

Also she's wearing this for some reason. ]

but phew, it's still enough force to worry her, so she's just continuing to try and run in small steps over the gust of blossoms to bleed off some of that force. ]

Almost there, almost there—

[ and just—tosses her as hard as she can in an upward arc to land over the other side of the railing, before throwing a sword at the hotel outer wall and warpstriking to it to get the rest of the way via stability.

ye gods that's enough heights for today thanks ]

[Fine well I guess Nero has something to prove now re: physical strength. He grits his teeth and splits a Feint out of him, hopping up onto the balcony railing.

The Feint grabs the big seating cushion off a nearby patio couch to act like an oversized baseball mitt, standing behind him. Stability would keep his feet from being swept straight off the floor, but it did nothing for keeping his legs and spine from being slammed with impact.

When the projectile shaped like mom hits, he grabs on tight-- upper body flung backwards, redirecting the momentum into a roll as he flips, twisting to stick the landing with Stability. The Feint catches them both, bracing them with the cushion to neutralize the last of their acceleration.]

[ The momentum carries her along with the cushion-turned-oversized baseball mitt as Nero flips, though it all happens too quickly for her to react.

Once they've finally come to a stop, though, she pushes herself nimbly off the cushion, landing on her feet... mostly without shaking. That was a long way down.

She looks over her shoulder to Nero. ]

...Not bad.

[She's very nearly yanked off her feet all over again when Kohime hooks her claws into those snazzy new threads, hauling her in for a clinging hug.

Why is everyone she loves so stupid pls save her.]

—Oh!

[ but then she is hugging her back, just as tight.
sorry she's so stupid. ]

[The Feint poofs. Nero flusters a little, and busies himself with leaning over the balcony to signal Shrike and Cardinal with a thumbs up.]

No sweat. Glad you're in one piece.

[Meanwhile––]

What is wrong with you?! Going to some other stupid dimension because a demon dared you to?

[Not that she's letting go but she would like it known that that was a dumb thing and she is Displeased.]

[ pets her hair ]

The alternative looked like it was being thrown in some Liar Hell holding cell.
[ slightly wry ] It turns out they don't like it when you sneak out of your transfer production.

[ shrike is now picking her way back over the balcony railing and it's time to drape on Nero's shoulders thanks because that was all very scary and she's glad it's done now ]

Ohhhhh I'm so glad. That was. That was really—that really felt too close, but...

[ wheeze ]

I can tell your unitmates to come up?

[ Amaranth pets Kohime's hair one last time, then gently steps away from the hug to turn and face the rest of the unit that is definitely for sure not hers. ]

...Shrike, are you alright?
—But yes, I'd appreciate that.

In the meantime I just want to quickly make sure I've gotten myself properly sorted.

[ furi: test if her powers are back on yet. ]

they definitely aren't, whatever ones you try.

also your phone is beeping with a message; if you check it, it notes that you have been refunded 6000 points for your unit powers. ]

[Her gaze flickers over Amaranth's uniform, noting the colour––

––and the "rope" that had bound them––

––and the connection forged to create it––

. . .And absolutely does not voice her growing suspicion because oops maybe Amaranth will be mad and it might kind of maybe be a little her fault? At least partly.

So she steps back and says nothing at all.]
