momquest: a quest for moms
[ It's another day in Tokyo-D, and the relentless cycle of content generation for the masses goes on; how long have you been filming this drama, exactly? And it's not that it's a bad show, per se, but the fact that it's really dedicated to showing the gritty realities of combat and using practical effects for it is... kind of a lot.
Also it can't decide if it wants to be a show about frenemies or about enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies. Cowards.
And besides, it's not home, is it?
It occurs to you on break at the really honestly lackluster buffet table set up for the actors and any surviving extras that... there's really not that much security on this show, all things considered, unless there's something you're not seeing... ]

Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
(Paper is precious, but not so precious as this.)
Then she picks up another. ]
This is... such a bad idea.
[ Still, the war god chose her for a reason, didn't he?
Amaranth runs the edge of her thumbnail along the fruit, puncturing the skin—then lifts it to her mouth to taste a drop of juice. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
It tastes delicious, refreshing and nutritious—just that one taste blows away your fatigue and hunger like it was never there, like you could never know such hardships. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Gods.
[ Amaranth presses her hands together and bows again. ] River God, and god who chose me, though you are gone, I thank you for this gift.
[ Now that she has... well, licked this, it feels odd to leave, so she wraps the second apple in paper as well and places it in her bag. And then it's on to that stairway. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Until,
Eventually.
You reach the top.
A heavy door heaves itself open, as if it had been expecting you as its guest and despite its weight and the long wait for you to arrive, it could no longer contain itself. Welcome, welcome. Come see, come see.
Your eyes take a moment to adjust.
Which way do you look first? ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
The first question is what is directly before her, isn't it? ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
In this high, high watchtower at the edge of this long sealed heaven, you can see outside the edge of the courtyard below, sheer as a cliff, there is a drop down long below—and the abyss is anything but empty. In the blackness, jewelic colors glimmer on buildings too far down to see properly, flares of neon and fire lining boulevards and advertising the dizzying myriad of buildings that jostle against each other, each in a blood-sport tussle for your attention.
Lights that might indicate cars crawl and speed and crash into each other, whirring madly and though you cannot hear the cacophony from this disdainful watchtower far above the chaos, you can be certain below it is pandaemonium.
This sea of life— unlife?— spreads from beneath the view from the gates until it swallows up even the horizon. Below you is the view of worlds upon worlds upon worlds of hells, seen too distantly to know their horrors. From up here, the only thing they look like is alive. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
[ It's something between realization and soft involuntary gasp. Are there more directions she can see from this watchtower? Amaranth slowly turns in a circle, right to left, eyes tracing the view from the tower windows. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Walkways criss-cross the shining towers, and little half-walkways jut out at intervals, like something might expect to land there. All the windows have been thrown open wide, except for some pale opaque-frosted stained-glass windows in sky blue and subtle touches of gold.
It's a beautiful city, but it's... empty. The windows look into towers empty of souls, the streets sit still. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
What would happen, were she to bring Suri back here? Or the others like them?
For now, though, she turns back to the tower itself, letting her eyes further adjust to the dark. Is there anything else in this room with her? She turns her gaze to the right of the stairway she entered from first—though she'll continue searching right-to-left until if or when she finds something notable. ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Maybe you could see Tokyo-F from here, even, if it's possible to see into all these parts of Hell? ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
So she steps up to the edge of the window, setting her hands on the stones as she overlooks the vastness of hell.
Some questions:
Can she get a sense of how many different domains there are? Are these really entire worlds, or is this Liars vs. Vengeance vs. etc.?
How far does her vision in fact reach with this place's sorcery?
...And, well.... can she in fact see Tokyo-F? ]
Re: MOMQUEST: HEAVEN CHAPTER
And, in fact, looking out to see Tokyo-F—
Well, you can't quite see Tokyo-F, not with your eyes, but you can feel something of it, in a way. Like you could just—turn your head and speak to those people who feel closest to your heart.
The question is, well—who are those people? ]
anything in italics is a thought/emotion that could get passed on
Why couldn't she hold on to LiliS?
Looking for them, somewhere in all that kaleidoscopic chaos, is an act of protectiveness—mingled with a kind of distant loneliness. ]
Re: anything in italics is a thought/emotion that could get passed on
also there's a separate feeling of—confused irritation, and then the distinct response back in Tenn's voice: ]
If there's a ghost, I'm going to be mad.
Re: anything in italics is a thought/emotion that could get passed on
no but actually you also get a distinct sense of a question: ]
what is happening? and are you okay?
assuming this is still on the general "@LiliS children" radio channel
a pause, and then she feels Ayumu.
...You can hear me? There's a kind of emotional background radiation, too: the kind of awe that is a mix of wonder and alarm. ]
Re: assuming this is still on the general "@LiliS children" radio channel
Seems like it.
Re: assuming this is still on the general "@LiliS children" radio channel
Re: assuming this is still on the general "@LiliS children" radio channel
...How can we help?
@LiliS telepathic groupchat
[ anyway, good news/bad news: turns out it's Heaven Bullshit ]
(...Do I need help?)
I'm... not certain. I think I'm in Yu-Shan (furi: heaven).
